For now just call us "The California Handyman Group".
I am starting this site - blog because it was brought to my attention there is a "Task Force" set up to bust people trying to feed their family's by advertising and doing handyman work in California.
I have been in the construction industry all of my life and a class B General contractor for over 15 years and have never sweated the guys out there without a license trying to stay off welfare and willing to work.
Later I'll rant a bit about the current administration wanting EVERYONE to be on the hand out list.
For now - What this site is about - We are here to help you handyman services understand what you can and cannot "legally" do as Handyman at least in California.
Handy man work under $500.00
This is brought to you straight from the CSLB in California - Same entity spending Thousands of dollars trying to arrest Handy man service providers in California.What are the penalties for contracting without a license?
A contractor's license is not necessary as long as you don't advertise yourself as a licensed contractor and never contract for jobs costing $500 or more, including labor and materials.
Who is exempt from licensing?
The following projects or individuals may be exempt from licensing:
A project for which the combined value of labor, materials, and all other costs on one or more contracts is less than $500. Work on a larger project, may not be broken down to smaller amounts of less than $500 in an attempt to meet the $500 exemption;
That's it for now, be careful out there trying to survive - Hanyman-Group
